WHAT YOU WILL FIND HERE
We are sending you on a visual tour of HK Quarter Horses. A bit of our history, our future projections, and some of our past accomplishments.
Our ranch is “Kubik Angus Ranch” and is ten miles north of Dickinson. The "Horse Place" is six miles east of Dickinson. We use both facilities in the operation of HK Quarter Horses. The "Horse Place" was a former rest area off Interstate-94. Everything was recycled, and the “Green Program” was the concept. It took two years to complete.

OUR PHILOSOPHY
We sell horses that are “SECURE”. The reason they are secure, is because their needs are always foremost. We think we breed them smart enough to know. We try to place the horses with people who want them for their individual needs, and horses that want to be with people.
OUR HISTORY
Burnt Bar 685902 was the main stallion when Roger Hirsch was in the horse business for many years. His dispersal was in September 1976 in Lemmon, SD. For the last twenty-five years he has been in business with LaDonna Kubik. The Kubik Angus Ranch was founded by LaDonna's father, Laudie Kubik, initially raising Hereford and then angus cattle. Kubik Angus won trophies in both the heifer and steer divisions of the Western Livestock show for years. The Kubik family are fifth-generation North Dakota ranchers since their initial homestead claim in Dunn County, ND 1899.
RENO
Reno is one of our stallions responsible for the start of our foundation bloodlines. He is now a gelding. These pictures are of him at the Taylor Horsefest. The other horse is "Big Red" being ridden by Stan Heidecker. Both he and his granddaughter had fun that day!
CHISOM 1
Here is Darcy Hart from South Dakota roping on our red roan, Chisom 1, at the DRA Finals in 2004.

RIDING HORSES
Some of the horses were trained at the horse place and some horses, were sent to Wyoming to seven different ranches; to have the opportunity of a full-rounded program. Frank Shepperson, World Champion Steer Wrestler, made sure they were put in the right hands to get a good start on a good program.
